As demand for high-performance, bioavailable minerals increases, silicon has gained relevance across both nutraceutical and cosmetic applications.
At Silicium Laboratories, we specialize in the development and manufacturing of organic, bioavailable silicon ingredients, designed to meet the technical and commercial needs of modern product development.
Our focus is on delivering stabilized, formulation-ready silicon systems with consistent quality and performance.
LIVING SILICA® is based on the original work of Dr. Loïc Le Ribault, supported by decades of research in silicon chemistry and its applications in biological systems.
Our development approach focuses on:
This enables the transition from inert silica to functionally relevant ingredients for nutraceutical and cosmetic use.
The effectiveness of silicon is strongly dependent on its chemical form and degree of polymerization.
From a formulation standpoint:
Silicium Laboratories develops ingredients designed to remain soluble, stable, and bioavailable, ensuring consistent performance across applications.

Silicium Laboratories is the producer and distributor of the drinkable food-grade silicon formula (MMST or Monomethylsilanetriol). It was developed by scientist Dr. Loic Le Ribault, who popularised silicon worldwide. He stabilized a form of silicon with a bioavailability many times greater than any silicon dioxide formula available.
It is a microencapsulated orthosilicic acid with maltodextrin providing the cells with one of the most easily absorbed forms of silica on the market today. It comes in a powder form that can also be mixed with solids or liquid supplements. A study showed that LIVING SILICA POWDER® has a much higher bioavailability compared to other types of silica.
Developing a bioavailable silicon supplement requires years of experience and a significant investment in scientific research. The effectiveness of silica is proportional to its bioavailability (absorption). Silicon is by nature a complex and unstable element. Its molecule tends over time to form long chains, polymerize and crystallize, becoming impossible to assimilate. Humans cannot absorb long chains of polymerized or crystallized silica. We need to obtain oligomeric, short-chain, non-crystallized silica that our body can assimilate. The degree of polymerization of Si is inversely proportional to its absorption. The human body absorbs silica as silicic acid or also known as orthosilicic acid.
